My name is Yvette Aver.

My first memory of creative activity dates back to when I was only three years old. One late evening I sat over a colouring book so absorbed that I could not make myself go to sleep. Colours, shapes and the joy of creating kept me awake longer than anything else. Looking back, I feel that this is where the first spark was lit – a quiet but lasting flame that has accompanied me through life.

The second important moment came when I was nine. I picked up a charcoal pencil and began to draw the world as I saw and felt it. That is when my personal visual language started to take shape – flowing, free and rich in detail. I was captivated by precision and by discovering the smallest nuances. Later the ink pen found its place beside the charcoal and became my most faithful companion. With its sharp, clear line I have been creating my worlds to this day.

I am at my most peaceful and happiest when I am creating. In the act of creation all thoughts and feelings settle – as if the world slowed down just enough for me to see it more clearly. Drawing and painting take me deeper into myself and into the essence of things.

My journey has also been marked by a ten-year pause from artistic practice, yet even then the flame inside me did not go out. I knew that one day I would return. And I did – perhaps changed, but never apart from that inner need to create. Every time I draw or paint, I feel myself changing. Each piece shapes me a little more precise, braver and more honest.

Each of us is created unique, and each of us has been given a gift. I believe that God has given people different abilities, talents and callings, and that even the trials we meet along the way can bring us closer to discovering ourselves and our calling. Some have forgotten their gift, some are still searching for it, and some have found, kept, used and developed it.

I believe the gifts we are given are not accidental. They are a present through which we can create, grow and share something good with others.

Over time, a wish has grown in me to share this feeling with others – to help them discover and develop their own creativity. I take great joy in working with other artists, because I believe that through art we can tell stories and truths even without words – directly, honestly and in our own language.

Now I stand at the threshold of a new chapter. Once the colouring book is finished, I will set ink drawings aside for a while to move towards painting. I want to explore the dialogue between colours, the relationship of light and form, and give my work a new dimension, breath and life.

An important part of my vision for the future is creating creative gatherings and workshops. I want to bring together family, friends, acquaintances and new people, so that there is a chance to meet even those whose paths might otherwise never cross ours. I believe such gatherings can give rise to new connections, friendships, ideas and wonderful collaborations.

I want to create a warm and safe atmosphere where every person feels welcome and can come just as they are. A place where one can step away from everyday life for a moment, slow down, talk, laugh, create and simply be present.

We all know that the most beautiful moments are often born when people come together with open hearts. That is exactly the feeling I want to share with others – the chance to be in one room without hurry, to share thoughts and experiences, and to notice the person beside us.

I believe creativity is more than self-expression. It gives us a chance to pause, go deeper and connect with ourselves and the world around us. Perhaps it also helps us remember something that is easily forgotten in the middle of everyday life – that there is something special in each of us, waiting to be noticed, discovered and grown.
